There is Still Life (AW20)

Welcome to “There is Still Life”, my a/w 2020 collection.

What can we say...who knew this year would be like this? So much has changed, everything has stopped and made us pause. Time to reflect, to appreciate life and beauty, to remind ourselves we are still here, we can still see beauty and find joy.

With these feelings in my mind, I created this collection. The title is a pun on my undying love for the great Dutch Masters, and I matched it with the current state of my mind.

I chose the loveliest of silk velvets, the most vibrant of the felts, the classiest of the silks, to make a series of small pieces, mostly cocktail hats and headbands, to highlight that even in the darkest months (or times) there is space for colour and for joy. Deep, calming navy meets strong Royal blue, scrumptious forest green sits alongside burgundy red.
