Design sketches of hats with floral patterns on paper

Bespoke Millinery

A fully bespoke service, creating one-of-a-kind hats and headpieces for Royal Ascot, weddings, or just because. Each piece is individually designed and hand-made, shaped around you.

Commissioning a Bespoke Piece

When you commission a bespoke piece, the design starts with you. I consider your features, your outfit, the scale you feel comfortable with, and how you want the piece to sit and move from the very beginning.

Rather than simply replicating a pre-existing style, I create something unique for you, using selected materials and traditional millinery techniques. The finished piece feels comfortable to wear and truly personal.

Each bespoke piece is made just once and never repeated. This makes it truly yours.

The Studio Appointment

Bespoke commissions start with a private studio appointment with Giulia, which lasts about 45 to 60 minutes. During this time, we discuss your ideas, your outfit, the occasion, and look at shapes and materials together.

You can try on different styles, see which sizes and shapes suit you, and talk about practical details like comfort and balance.

Clients are encouraged to bring their outfit, fabric swatches, or accessories. For bridal commissions, images of your hairstyle and bouquet can be helpful, as they help the piece sit beautifully with the overall look.

If you cannot visit the studio, online appointments are available.

At-home appointments can also be arranged on request in the local area and in London.

Making your piece

After the first appointment, I will sketch up to three designs based on your consultation, preferences, and budget.

Once you approve the final design, it is developed and handcrafted in the studio. I make each piece myself and share work-in-progress photos so you can see key stages and stay updated.

If needed, extra fittings are arranged to make sure the piece fits comfortably and securely, and that the final proportions feel right when you wear it.

Clients often ask.

It's a good idea to contact me as early as you can.

From October to February, I usually recommend getting in touch 4 to 6 weeks ahead, especially for custom orders for weddings, racing events, or other special occasions.

Between March and September, please try to get in touch at least 8 weeks before your event, especially for Royal Ascot. For weddings, garden parties, other racing events, and honours recipients, 6 weeks' notice is usually enough to allow time to design and make your hat.

If you have a last-minute request, feel free to ask. I'll do my best to help, but I may not always be able to fit it in.

Booking a studio appointment is the best way to begin, whether you are interested in a ready-made design from my website or a custom commission.

If you can't visit the studio in person, I offer 45-minute online consultations through Zoom or WhatsApp.

At-home consultations can be arranged on request, both locally and in London, with an additional charge, depending on the distance.

Initial consultations, both for ready-made hats and for bespoke commissions, are complimentary and offered by appointment.
